Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy!
"Preserving land and restoring habitat for the enjoyment and education of all"
With your help we acquired a large parcel of open space on the south side of the Peninsula. This led to the creation of the 1200-acre Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, which is owned by the City of Rancho Palos Verdes and managed by the Conservancy. Working with the community we are developing plans and working in the field to take care of this magnificent resource. We appreciate the ongoing community support that makes all that we do possible - preservation, restoration, trail development and more. In addition to the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve, the Land Conservancy owns or manages the Linden H. Chandler and George F Canyon Preserves in Rolling Hills Estates and the White Point Nature Preserve and habitat restoration on the Defense Fuel Supply Point in San Pedro. Our education program provides monthly nature walks, volunteer opportunities, and programs for third graders in 19 schools in Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Lomita and Carson.
The Land Conservancy works cooperatively with cities, property owners and environmental groups, locating funds for purchasing land, providing tax benefits for land donation, restoring habitat, and promoting the conservation of natural open space. We cover the geographic Palos Verdes Peninsula.
